Cuvée des lézards
After a fairly rainy winter, largely restoring the soil's water reserves, spring was moderately watered and summer was incredibly hot and dry. The vines, despite having suffered from heat and water stress, produced a very good quality harvest in normal quantity.
The 43ha domain is located on the edge of the Argens valley, at the foot of the Estérel massif, just 7km from the Mediterranean Sea.
The soils are of Permian origin (270 million years).
They are composed of stony river alluviums, fine sandstones and red micaceous clays.
The harvest is launched when the phenolic maturities are at their optimum. The grape varieties are harvested separately plot by plot in order to harvest grapes at perfect maturity.
This wine is vinified in accordance with the organic wine charter.
When the grapes are fully ripened, the harvest is destemmed and crushed before placing in the tank. This is followed by long fermentation and maceration (4 to 5 weeks) in order to extract the maximum of aromas and tannins. The wines are then placed in barrels of Allier oaks.
Bright, clean ruby color. An expressive nose with a lot of elegance, aromas of coffee mocha of very ripe red and black fruits, some aromas of vanilla and toast. The palate is sophisticated, complex, slightly toasted. The tannins are present but well melted. This wine is very silky and will further improve.
Ideal on your meats and gourmet meals. This wine is to be consumed within 5 to 10 years.
